About the Initiative
Empowering CNAs Through Collective Ownership
The CNA Worker Cooperative is a worker cooperative incubator designed to address the challenges faced by women of color, immigrants, refugees, and new Americans in the healthcare industry. By offering comprehensive training and support, this initiative equips CNAs with the skills to establish cooperatives that provide home health care, elder care, and caregiving services.
This project promotes financial independence, job security, and community integration through shared ownership and democratic governance.

1. Tailored Training Programs:
Focused on cooperative governance, business planning, financial literacy, and healthcare regulations to prepare participants for cooperative ownership.
2. Mentorship and Peer Support:
Providing guidance from experienced professionals to ease the transition into cooperative leadership.
3. Legal and Administrative Support:
Assistance with licensing, regulatory compliance, and business management.
4. Community Partnerships:
Collaboration with local health organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to expand resources and opportunities for cooperative members.
